RV1126/ RV1109 A high-performance AI vision processor SoC for IPC

RV1126 is an AI version SOC.
With 14nm lithography process and quad-core 32-bit ARM Cortex-A7 architecture, RV1126 integrates NEON and FPU — the frequency is up to 1.5GHz. It supports FastBoot, TrustZone technology and multiple crypto engines.

Built-in neural network processor NPU with computing power up to 2.0 Tops realizes that the power consumption of AI computing is less than 10% of the power required by the GPU. With tools and supporting AI algorithms provided, it supports direct conversion and deployment of Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe, MxNet, DarkNet, ONNX, etc.

With multi-level image noise reduction, 3F-HDR and other technologies, RV1126 not only ensures the dynamic range of the scene, but also meets the needs of outputting full color in darkness, making "clearly visible" a reality — more conforms to the actual demands in the security field.

Built-in Video CODEC supports 4K H.254/H.265@30FPS and multi-channel video encoding and decoding, meeting the needs of low bit rate, low-latency encoding, perceptual encoding and making the video occupancy smaller.








Analysis of the advantages of Rockchip RV1126 and RV1109 IPC solutions

The imaging quality, picture effect, and ability to present details are important indicators for considering IPC solution technology in complex scenes such as complex lighting environments, the flow of people and vehicles, and changing human movements. Recently, two IPC solutions under Rockchip, RV1126 and RV1109, have been newly upgraded. Based on Rockchip's self-developed ISP2.0 technology, they present advantages visible to the naked eye.

1. Less smear, clearer
RV1126/RV1109 has obvious advantages in different scenarios based on the RV1126/RV1109 solution's six technical features of multi-level noise reduction, 3-frame HDR, sharpness & contrast, Smart AE intelligent automatic exposure, AWB white balance, and distortion correction, 
1.1 Low noise contrast: less smear, clearer



1.2 HDR Contrast: Clearer Display
In the comparison of the left and right bright and dark dynamic ratio 10x scenes in the laboratory, the RV1126 rely on 3-frame HDR technology to make the head and wall more delicate under strong light, and the newspaper text is clearer. Moreover, the overexposure of the highlighted area is suppressed, so that the details can be preserved. Compared with other solutions, the faces in the dark areas are darker, and the brightness of the faces in the dark areas displayed by RV1126 and RV1109 is restored to reality.



1.3 Sharpness and contrast comparison: higher degree of restoration
       Sharpness is an index that reflects the sharpness of the image plane and edge sharpness. The higher the sharpness, the better the details can be restored. Contrast measures the performance of different brightness levels between the brightest white and the darkest black in the light and dark areas of an image.
       During the test, in the face of complex scenes composed of road bridges, traffic flow, street lights, buildings, etc. in the city, compared with other solutions, RV1126 and RV1109 brought better sharpness and contrast rendering, whether it is the outline of houses, street lights, trees, etc. As well as the details and clarity of the distant buildings in the picture, the sharpness and contrast technical advantages of RV1126 and RV1109 are fully reflected.




1.4  Comparison of different lumens: better brightness
       Under different lumens, the brightness displayed by the picture is different. In order to restore the real side, it is tested whether the IPC solution has a more ideal picture control ability. Through the actual measurement, it can be found that based on the "Smart AE intelligent automatic exposure" technology, the overall brightness of the RV1126 and RV1109 is better at the lumen level of 1/10/50lux.

1.5 AWB white balance comparison: accurately restore the real scene color
       AWB white balance is very important to the image quality. According to the test and comparison, in the daytime scene of blue sky, sunlight, road, cowboy man, and large area of green trees, the RV1126 and RV1109 can accurately restore the image quality through the "AWB white balance" technology. True colors of live scenes.

1.6 Wide Angle Contrast: Accurately Control Distortion
       In the wide-angle comparison test, the RV1126 and RV1109 accurately repaired the distortion through the equipped chip-level distortion correction algorithm. In the comparison chart, it can be found that RV1126 and RV1109 can accurately control the distortion, and the human body and the door are in the normal display state.

RV1126 and RV1109 adopt Smart265 encoding technology, which can make the captured picture files both high-definition and small in size. For example, the memory consumed by recording surveillance pictures for 30 days with other equipment can be recorded continuously for 60 days with RV1126 and RV1109. It can be seen that for the same video source, the file size is reduced by half after using Smart265 technology.
